I like to think that their home and Seventh Heaven become THE place to hang out when the kids get a bit older. All the neighborhood kids in and out constantly, which Cloud both likes and finds overwhelming (he’s scared of teenagers, fair enough). I love the idea of Cloud being stuck in a somewhat central position in their Edge community because of Tifa/Seventh Heaven as well as the kids. After being an outsider as a kid in Nibelheim, I think it would make him both happy and a little confused/bewildered by it all.
I also think Cloud would be the calm one when one of the kids gets hurt! But a bit of a buffoon when it comes to more complicated things as the kids get older, like crushes and dating. I don’t necessarily see him as overprotective, but definitely way uncool and embarrassing (in a loveable way) for his poor teens.
Haha love it and can totally see it. For sure she had Cloud playing dress up at some point too. Only girl in the village and Cloud’s the next best thing. Putting on a dress in Wallstreet was like riding a bike for Cloud!
Love this question! I like to think that when they were very little, Cloud was the sweet, angelic one and Tifa was a bit more mischievous and headstrong. Then, when Tifa’s mother died, she lost her sense of self a bit. And of course, we know Cloud started fighting more after the Mt. Nibel incident. Keeping my fingers crossed that Part 3 shows more of these two as little kids!
I played the OG as a kid back in 1997 with my big bro, though back then I was mostly interested in playing dress up with Cloud and Aerith (Aeris, lol) on Wall Street. Total Disc One girly. Then as a teenager, I became obsessed with Advent Children in 2005, replayed the OG and fully invested in the Disc Two storyline, and became obsessed with Cloud/Tifa. That was when I started writing fanfiction on ff.net…before like a 10-year hiatus.
I missed the initial Remake craze! I heard about it, but did not tune in and kind of just assumed a 1:1 remake of the OG. The winter before Rebirth came out, I saw some Remake content and it sucked me in. My mind was blown re: how much it expanded on Cloud and Tifa’s relationship. By the time Rebirth came out, I was lost and just had to start writing Cloud/Tifa fanfiction again. The stories and the characters of FF7 truly are timeless <3
